His father took first the title of King, and Arbus himself fought the Ghioz Empire during the War of the Red Queen, without dragon or Hypatian assistance.
He was reluctant to join the Grand Alliance, fearing domination from the Hypatians, but eventually agreed to provisionally join it after talking with Wistala.
